Maintain your certification and stay compliant with industry standards. Complete your renewal requirements quickly and without interruption.

Certificants are encouraged to continually develop their skills and apply their knowledge, even after obtaining certification. To maintain these standards, the NHCO requires certifications be renewed every two years. To continue using their certification without interruption, certificants must renew before their certification expires.
Renewing your certification is simple and straightforward. Review requirements, complete continuing education, and submit your application online.

The NHCO renewal fee is $100 per renewal period of two (2) calendar years.
Certificants who renew their certificate after their expiration date are required to pay a $25 reinstatement fee in addition to the renewal fee.
Expired certification is renewed from the expiration date. Since renewal periods are for two calendar years, a late renewal does not add extra time as it restores your certification for the original two-year term.
As a reminder, certificants should ensure they meet the requirements for renewal before submitting the application. Renewal and reinstatement fees are non-refundable.
A certification renewal may be applied for up to six months prior to the expiration date. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the renewal application is both purchased and submitted before the certification expires. If a renewal application is submitted after the expiration date, it will be processed based on the submission date rather than the purchase date.

If an individual’s certificate has been expired for four (4) or more years, their certification will become invalid and cannot be renewed. Exceptions may be extended for special circumstances, such as active military duty. In such cases, certificants should file an appeal with the NHCO.
Expired credentials may not be used for any reason until the certificate has been successfully reinstated.

Once an applicant has been approved for renewal, they will receive an updated, high-resolution, printable digital certificate via their candidate portal.
Individuals have the right to appeal the NHCO’s decision regarding their eligibility for renewal.
